Captain Robbie Sommer, a Naples, Florida native, has been exploring the local waters for most of his life. Robbie discovered his passion for fishing at an early age and has been hooked ever since. Fulfilling his dream of becoming a full-time guide and running his own fishing business, Robbie now aims to share his love for fishing with others. Whether it’s offering “Fishing 101”, sharing extensive local knowledge, or simply enjoying a great time on the water,
Robbie accommodates all levels of anglers, from the inexperienced to the avid fisherman, showcasing his ability to handle challenges with ease.
At Down South Charters, we provide both inshore and offshore fishing experiences! We’ll get you on the fish, including Cobia, Snook, Pompano, Grouper, Redfish, and more!
When you book a charter with us, you’ll be on our 2022-built 25′ Pathfinder bay boat, powered by a 1 x 300 HP engine. This boat comfortably accommodates up to 4 passengers and is well-equipped for an unforgettable time on the water!

On an offshore excursion, we typically fish for species such as Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Permit, Shark, Snook and others. Regardless of the day, one thing remains certain: we will locate the fish and ensure an exciting time of tight-line fishing!

Our Captain’s boat is equipped with a live bait well, which may be used to hold bait and other smaller fish you may catch.
Rods, Reels, & Tackle
Our Captains are prepared with all the equipment necessary to catch whatever may swim your way! All the rods, reels, tackle, and bait will be provided to target whatever species you are hoping to catch!
You Keep Catch
Aside from the species required to be released by law and some species that may not be recommended as table fair, whatever fish are landed while out on the water are yours to keep!
