Welcome to Reel Screamer Charters! An offshore fishing charter out of Tavernier, Florida located between Key Largo and Islamorada Florida started by Captain Eddy Cabrera. With his love and passion for offshore fishing that started at a young age, he started his charter business for families and friends to enjoy and make great memories out on the water.
Being in the Florida Keys, the variety of fish is endless and anybody can chase that one fish they have been looking for. In the summer we spend time chasing mahi mahi, blackfin tuna, and deep dropping for tilefish, snappers, and groupers and in the winter months chasing kingfish, wahoo, sailfish and blackfin tuna on the wrecks. Certain species like yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, grouper, and swordfish bite all year long.
At the start of every trip, the pickup is at Angler Eddy’s Bait and Tackle, where you’ll meet Capt. Eddy aboard the 25′ Contender, which accommodates up to 4 passengers. This comfortable, fast, and safe boat is perfect for anglers of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a great day on the water.
Depending on your booked trip, you’ll either head to the reef for bottom fishing, kite fishing, or wreck fishing, or venture offshore for trolling, live bait fishing, deep dropping, or swordfishing, depending on the time of year and what’s biting. At the end of each trip, all fish caught will be cleaned and bagged for you to take home!

Our 3/4 day trip offers more time on the water and the opportunity to venture farther offshore to target exciting species like Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo. By heading offshore, you can also incorporate deep dropping in over 400 feet of water for a variety of Snappers, Tilefish, and Grouper species!
With multiple options available, fishing can take place offshore, at the reef, or even both. This trip is perfect for anglers of all skill levels and ages, ensuring everyone has the chance to catch a fish!

A typical day starts begins with offshore trolling, deep dropping, live-baiting then making our way back in to finish a great day on the reef and add some more meat for the table.

Daytime Swordfish Charter

Looking to land one of the hardest-fighting, most sought-after trophy fish in the ocean?
Our swordfishing adventures take you 30 miles offshore to the ledge for a chance at the catch of a lifetime. Utilizing two rods—a tip rod and a buoy rod—we’ll use electric reels due to the depths we fish (1400-2000 feet).
Swordfishing requires patience, as you might experience multiple bites or just one all day. But once the action begins, it’s game on! During the run out to the ledge, you’ll also have opportunities to catch other species, such as Mahi and Tuna, or even engage in deep dropping for various bottom species, depending on the season. If you’re looking to chase a trophy fish, then swordfishing is the adventure for you!

Live Bait Well
Our Captain’s boat is equipped with a live bait well, which may be used to hold bait and other smaller fish you may catch.
Rods, Reels, & Tackle
Our Captains are prepared with all the equipment necessary to catch whatever may swim your way! All the rods, reels, tackle, and bait will be provided to target whatever species you are hoping to catch!
You Keep Catch
Aside from the species required to be released by law and some species that may not be recommended as table fair, whatever fish are landed while out on the water are yours to keep!
