Family-Friendly Trips
Imagine the excitement on your child’s face as they reel in their first or biggest catch—it’s an experience like no other!
Going on a fishing charter with your family opens up a world of adventure and excitement. It not only offers a unique opportunity for kids to connect with nature but also allows them to develop different hobbies and skills.
At Reel Guides, we’re committed to providing an exceptional charter experience that creates lasting memories. We believe these shared moments in nature are priceless for both children and adults alike.
Â
What to Expect:
During our kid-friendly trips, our captains will teach youngsters how to use a rod and reel. They will also let them experience the excitement of reeling in their own catch if your child chooses. Our captains are knowledgeable about the marine environment, different fish species, and the importance of conservation. This element provides a fun and educational experience for everyone.
We understand that little ones don’t always enjoy being out on the water all day. That is why we offer medium and shorter trip durations to suit your preferences. Typically, your Captain will take you a few miles offshore to a nearby reef or wreck. If the conditions are rough, your guide will stay close to shore to keep everyone comfortable?
Â
Amenities:
Safety is our top priority. Our captains provide child-sized life jackets and ensure that everyone on board has the necessary safety gear. Depending on the charter, some vessels are equipped with onboard bathrooms for your comfort and convenience. If there is a bathroom on board, it will be clearly listed on the captain’s profile. In addition, majority of our charters provide shaded areas to protect you and your family from the sun’s rays if you need a break from fighting the fish. Want to go back early? No problem! Just let your captain know.
Â
What to Bring:
When preparing for your fishing charter, we encourage you to bring along sunscreen with a high SPF. Additionally, don’t forget to pack a hat, sunglasses, and a towel for drying off incase you decide to cool off in the ocean. To stay energized and hydrated throughout the day, bring along food/snacks and any additional beverages you may want to have. You’re welcome to bring alcohol, but please avoid glass bottles for everyone’s safety while on board. By packing these essentials, you’ll be well-prepared for a fantastic day on the water!
Â
Recommended Age:
The ideal age for children to fully enjoy and actively participate in our fishing charters is typically around 5 years old and above. At this age, children have developed enough coordination, attention span, and understanding to engage in fishing activities, such as casting lines, reeling in catches, and appreciating the overall fishing experience.
However, we understand that younger children may also be eager to join in on the fun and excitement of a fishing charter. In such cases, we encourage parental supervision and assistance to ensure the safety and enjoyment of both the child and the rest of the group.

Reviews:
"My wife and I, along with our three kids had our first fishing experience in Key West. We were concerned about seasickness, so we booked an inshore trip. The captain was amazing! He taught the kids the basics of fishing and helped them hook Barracuda, Snapper, and Jacks. It’s been three weeks and the kids can’t stop talking about their day with Capt. Jake. There’s no doubt, we'll be back for more!"

"During our family vacation in Jacksonville, we decided to try fishing as a family for the first time. Captain Mike was next level! He quickly got the kids hooked up to Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. We can't wait to do it again next year!"
